One person, millions of votes
I built Ambarium because I'm a Spanish-speaking fragrance fan in hot, humid western Mexico, and I was tired of guessing which reviews to trust. The community has already voted, millions of times, on how perfumes actually perform. Someone just had to count. (That heat is also why hot-weather performance shows up all over these lists: I wear these things at 34°C.)
Nobody pays to be here, and nothing here is for sale. No affiliate links, no sponsorships, no brand can buy a spot on any list, and the analytics are anonymous. When a $40 clone outranks a $400 original, that's the votes talking, not me.
How the lists are ranked
Each list starts from Fragrantica's per-perfume vote breakdowns: rating, seasons, longevity, sillage, price value. I re-rank the perfumes with Bayesian weighting, a statistics tool that distrusts small samples, so a perfume with 40 votes can't beat one with 4,000 on a lucky average.

How a dupe gets verified
Every pair is built from real quotes, not one viral post. Agreement is counted by independent source types, never raw mentions: a hundred Reddit comments repeating one rumor still count as one. The more types agree, the higher a pair ranks, and negative consensus disqualifies it. Evidence comes from four source types:
- Reddit posts comparing the two
- Separate Reddit comment threads
- clonespreadsheet, a community-run similarity sheet
- The clone brand's own "inspired by" product page
What each pair shows
You see the evidence, not just my conclusion: every pair shows the actual quotes, critical ones included, linked to their sources (an LLM digs them out of tens of megabytes of discussion). If half of Reddit says a clone dies in two hours, that's on the page too.
The similarity score blends the community's own estimates (clonespreadsheet's ratings, the percentages people give on Reddit), each weighted by how reliable the source is.
